This was the 5^th running of the relay race in memory of a Norfolk Gazelle runner, who died tragically during a parachute jump in 2004. Organised by his running club – Norfolk Gazelles, a total of 31 teams competed in this relay around the beautiful countryside of the village of Skeyton, nr North Walsham and requires 3 runners per team. Great Yarmouth & District Athletics Club entered 1 team for the 1^st time – the relay is run in 3 legs – the first runners does 1 lap of 2.2 miles – this was taken on by Pat Brightman who struggled with the undulations but finished in a time of 25:40 – she then handed over to Dawn Clegg, who had to complete 2 laps – a total of 4.4 miles and she was very pleased with her time of 43:20. Dawn then handed over to Sue Fraser, who also had to complete 2 laps, this she achieved in an excellent time of 37:06 before, rejoining Pat & Dawn, who together had to complete a further lap. GYDAC finished in a time of 2:12:26. An enjoyable event which will certainly be on the running calendar for GYDAC next year.
